Introduction: Simanyene Secondary School

We introduce to you Simanyene Secondary School with its principal, Mr Matshoba.
Simanyene is located in Asanda Village, Strand – have a look – you can see the prominent pinkish building from the N2 driving towards Sir Lowry’s Pass. It is a quintile 3, no fees WCED high school with 1485 learners registered for the 2020 academic year and 40+ staff members. Last year this time, there was an article in the City Vision that described a matric motivational morning that the Simanyene teachers hosted – read it here.
Strong Schools is there to come alongside such teachers at schools like Simanyene, so that we can build up a school that is aligned and effective in preparing its learners for their futures. If we can, through our organisational development, assist the school to operate more efficiently, many things will  become possible! Teachers can get back to the heart of teaching; curriculum can become dynamic, relevant, inspirational; the youth’s perspectives and horizons can broaden; young people can be given hope.
If our community starts to collaborate, Simanyene could become a place where these high school learners can lay solid foundations – academically, emotionally, in character building and as valuable fellow citizens. This is the least of what schools should be able to offer their learners!
Invest in Strong Schools for the next generation. High school learners will soon become your colleagues, your employees, your neighbours – let’s improve the way that we prepare them for post matric.
