Christmas Tinto Primary School

School Background

Christmas Tinto Primary School was established on 16 July 2012, to address the overcrowding at ACJ Phakade Primary School. The school’s colours are turquoise and white, and its motto is “Empowering Future Citizens.” Unfortunately, the surrounding community faces significant challenges, including crime, substance abuse, and high unemployment rates. As a result, the school operates as a no-fee WCED institution to ensure education is accessible to all learners.

School Achievements

Athletics

Since the school’s debut in athletics in 2014, it has consistently excelled. Several learners have earned Western Province Colours in both Cross Country and Track. Each year, an average of three learners from both disciplines qualify to compete in the South African Schools Athletic Championships. Notably, in 2015, one of our former learners, Mpho Ntesang, was named City Vision/Masidlale Sport Star of the Year. He remained unbeaten provincially in both Track and Cross Country that year.

Music

Our Foundation Phase and Infants Choir have achieved remarkable success, securing first and second place in the Eisteddfod Music Competition in 2017, 2019, and 2023.
