Why volunteer at Strong Schools?

My Strong Schools story starts with a wish to assist the Primary School that my gardener’s son is going to attend. The school in question is ACJ Primary School, and in my research to find out more about the school, I came across the Strong Schools website.

The website inspired confidence and a clear aim of what this Non-Profit aims to achieve. I identified with the vision and the way that Strong Schools act as change agents to work towards a better future for learners and immediately felt drawn to the organization.

I work for Capitec Bank where each employee has the opportunity to be a Capitec Volunteer. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, Capitec has various ways of assisting staff members that volunteer their time, skills and money towards a cause aligned with the CSI strategy.

I did not have to look any further – Strong Schools is the place where I want to volunteer – I am looking forward to the journey! Like the lyrics of the song, Greatest Love of All, says

“I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way”

Volunteering at Strong Schools enables a better future for our children in South Africa.
