OUR STORY

Helderberg education overview:

The Western Cape Education Department (abbreviated WCED) is the department of the Government of the Western Cape responsible for primary and secondary education within the Western Cape province of South Africa. The Helderberg falls under the Metro East Education District. There are 189 schools in this district of which 33 are situation in the Helderberg (Somerset West, Strand and Gordon’s Bay). We are currently involved with 13 of these public schools.

To learn more about the history of education in the Helderberg, read this interesting article published in a local newspaper in October 2018, by clicking here.

Strong Schools originated here in the Helderberg and we treasure our standing relationships with the schools’ management and the WCED representatives in this area, but we are dedicated to the whole school development of any and all departmental schools in the Western Cape. Our model can be implemented anywhere where there is a community excited and ready to partner with us.
